Revolutionize Hiring with AI

I hope you're doing well. This week at the SWP summit in Chicago, I presented on how we need to rethink processes to align with AI ambitions. One specific example was around screening candidates.

This paper is built on a simple observation: the nature of work has changed dramatically because of AI, but most enterprise hiring processes have not. Organizations are still interviewing candidates using methods designed for a world where success depended heavily on coding puzzles, resume keywords, and static job descriptions, while today's work increasingly requires people to collaborate with AI, integrate systems and data, exercise judgment, manage AI failures, and solve real business problems.

The document argues that companies should stop primarily hiring for AI knowledge and start hiring for the ability to achieve outcomes with AI as a partner. Its usefulness lies in providing a practical 90-day playbook for CHROs and Talent Acquisition leaders to redesign interviews, replace artificial assessments with realistic AI-enabled work simulations, introduce new evaluation rubrics, and ultimately improve the quality of hiring decisions.

At its core, the paper asks a new hiring question: “What can this person accomplish with an AI agent sitting next to them?” and suggests that the answer to that question will be a far better predictor of future performance than many traditional interview techniques.

I hope you like this paper.
