  • L3Harris Technologies expanded its XL platform of Project 25 (P25) radios with the new XL Extreme 400P, the first and only handheld radio system. 

  • Honeywell Aerospace has begun flight testing an automated system to help urban air mobility (UAM) vehicles land autonomously. Honeywell adds sensors that support safer, autonomous urban air mobility operations. 

  • BAE Systems has acquired Pulse Power and Measurement Limited (PPM), a developer and manufacturer of high-end electronics, to expand the use of RF systems and power electronics technologies across a range of applications.

Connectivity – Key Initiatives: The connectivity segment focuses on the in-flight connectivity, aircraft cybersecurity, connected aircraft, laser communication terminal, and flight connectivity platform to improve passenger, pilot, and operator experience during travel. 

  • Cobham Aerospace Connectivity and QinetiQ partnered to test, integrate and assure the technology for a new 4G LTE Aircraft Communications System (ACS), transforming Emergency Services Air to Ground (A2G) communications. 

  • Collins Aerospace systems partnered with Astronics Corporation to deliver business jet connectivity equipment. 

  • Sky Grid, a joint venture between Boeing and SparkCognition, launched an AI-powered cybersecurity system on drones. 

  • Airbus and The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research develop an Ultra Air airborne laser communication terminal to establish connections between an aircraft and satellite in geostationary orbit.
